Frequently asked questions

TickMark is not highlighting anything. What should I check?

Make sure TickMark and the relevant keyword list are enabled. Confirm the website is not excluded, and try refreshing the page. Browser-internal pages, the Chrome Web Store and other restricted pages may not support extensions.

Can I highlight different words in different colors?

Yes. Create multiple keyword lists and choose a color for each list.

How do I pause highlighting on a website?

Open the TickMark popup on that website and use the website pause option. You can also manage excluded domains in TickMark settings.

What do “whole words” and “match case” mean?

“Whole words” matches complete words instead of parts of longer words. “Match case” requires capitalization to match your keyword.

Can I back up or transfer my keywords?

Yes. Use the local JSON export feature to save a configuration file, and import it when needed. Keep the exported file secure if it contains sensitive keywords or website exclusions.

Does TickMark read my webpage text?

It examines webpage text locally to find your chosen keywords. The current extension does not send webpage text or keyword lists to Media Train OÜ servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Does TickMark work on every website?

No. Chrome restricts extension access to certain pages. Website structures and dynamically loaded content can also affect which text is highlighted.

How can I report a bug?

Email service@trust-prompt.com with what happened, what you expected, and how to reproduce the problem. Avoid including sensitive information.

A note about privacy: TickMark is a general-purpose keyword highlighter, not a security scanner or compliance certification tool. If you need to contact us, share only the information necessary for support.
