Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find answers to the most common questions about Trust-Prompt, how it works, and how it helps reduce privacy and compliance risks when using AI tools.

What is Trust-Prompt?

Trust-Prompt is a privacy-first precheck layer that analyzes prompts before they are sent to AI tools. It helps prevent sensitive or regulated data from being shared unintentionally.

Learn more on the Features page.

How does Trust-Prompt work?

Trust-Prompt intercepts a prompt before submission and evaluates it locally in the browser. A clear decision is shown before any data leaves your device.

You can read the full explanation on the How it works page.

Does Trust-Prompt send my data to external servers?

No. The StoreBasic version runs entirely locally. There are no server calls, no cloud processing, and no telemetry.

Does Trust-Prompt use AI to analyze my prompts?

No. StoreBasic does not use AI for prompt analysis. All checks are performed using a deterministic, rule-based ruleset.

Future versions may optionally include AI-based checks with explicit user control.

What types of data can Trust-Prompt detect?

Trust-Prompt detects patterns and indicators such as:

  • Valid IBANs (MOD97 verification)
  • Payment card data (card number combined with CVV or expiry)
  • Secrets and API tokens
  • Email addresses, phone numbers, and physical addresses
  • Upload-related keywords (upload, attach, screenshot, scan, etc.)

A detailed overview is available on the Features page.

What happens when sensitive data is detected?

Trust-Prompt applies one of three actions:

  • BLOCK – The prompt is not sent.
  • WARN – A warning is shown and you can decide whether to proceed.
  • INFO – Informational notice only.

Can I still send a prompt after a warning?

Yes. In the case of a WARN decision, you can explicitly choose to proceed. Trust-Prompt never sends data automatically without user confirmation.

How does Trust-Prompt handle file uploads?

StoreBasic does not inspect file contents. There is no OCR, no screenshot parsing, and no file analysis.

If an upload is detected, Trust-Prompt can warn you to avoid uploading IDs, banking, or tax-related documents to AI tools.

Is Trust-Prompt GDPR compliant?

Trust-Prompt is designed with privacy-by-design and data minimization principles in mind. It supports a risk-aware approach aligned with GDPR/DSGVO concepts.

Trust-Prompt does not claim certification or legal compliance guarantees.

For details, see the Privacy Policy.

Does Trust-Prompt make AI usage legally compliant?

No. Trust-Prompt is a technical safeguard tool. It does not replace legal advice, internal policies, or compliance reviews.

Which AI tools are supported?

StoreBasic currently supports ChatGPT only on supported domains (chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com).
